Puerto Rican quintet Dantesco showcase their melange of operatic, classical Spanish, and metal on their latest disc 11-track PAGANO. Due to their total over the top nature, this band is hard to jump right into without taking a bit of getting prepared for, with overpowering and overwrought vocals reserved for a Broadway musical coming off clunky and untuneful during a good part of the disc. Yet, no matter what side of the fence your on here, this band produces a interesting listening experience and display a true passion for metal for both friends and foes to have an equally good time either revelling in Dantesco's metallic glory or cutting them up to pieces. Grab your copy and decide.
